1) PhD in Computer Science/Engineering Technology/ Management. 2) Graduation must be in the area of Computer Science/ Engineering Technology. |
1) Candidate should have at least 10 years of experience in Teaching/ Industry/ Research out of which 3 years must be at the level of Professor in any University or an equivalent Senior Executive Level in the Corporate sector, with specific involvement in the FOSS sector.
2) Candidates should preferably have first hand experience in handling, promoting and training Graduates in Open Source Operating Systems and a variety of application software.
3) A basic understanding of legal issues related to FOSS is also essential |

Role & Responsibilities
Director, International- Centre for FOSS shall be head of the Cenre for FOSS. He/she shall be responsible for positioning the Centre appropriately in the international community.
Collaborate and network with national and international FOSS community. Collaborate with other Government involved in promotion and development of FOSS.
Take up academic and research related to FOSS through the International Centre for FOSS. Develop FOSS capacity within the State; mobilize the FOSS community within the State under the umbrella of International Centre of FOSS.
Make recommendations to Government regarding promotion of FOSS systems and applications within the Government.
Establishing linkages for mutal benefit with variuos international, Government and Private Organizations who are interested in promoting FOSS.
The ICFOSS is expected to play role as an academic institution as well as a commercial enterprises.
