ICFOSS trainings and workshops are specifically directed towards Government employees and representatives of relevant authorities, which will actively participate in the capacity building process of themselves during the period of time. The involvement of ICFOSS in such a programme will be of immense value as it brings in significant expertise and exposure to Free and Open Source Software. It also offers ICFOSS access and visibility to a community of open source programmers across the world. Such programmes are significant contribution from ICFOSS. This is mainly aimed at the development and promotion of FOSS initiatives among the Government employees and to make them competent & aware of the benefits of using FOSS applications and tools in tune with the epolicy of Governments. And also popularizing & familiarize the concept and use of Open Source Operating Systems & softwares to improve computer operational skills of officers. ICFOSS has started on the above concepts and currently within emphasis to FOSS based support services to Government departments, innovators, young graduates and students. In addition to this Workshops on FOSS applications and an One hour talk by industrial and research experts called “FOSS Wednesdays” for giving awareness to open source softwares are also conducting by ICFOSS since long time.
