In order to leverage the objectives of ICFOSS towards propagation, promotion and development of FOSS, a fellowship programme was instituted in ICFOSS. The idea behind it is to attract young FOSS enthusiasts to collaborate with ICFOSS in the endeavor to materialise their innovative ideas and provide contributions in FOSS initiatives of common interest. Applications are invited from BTech / MTech / BSc (IT/Computer Science/Electronics) / Msc(IT/Computer Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Electronics) / MCA / MBA (Systems) / MA(Computational Linguistics/ Linguistics) holders for engaging as FOSS Innovation Fellows in ICFOSS for the FOSS initiative projects. The fellowship application should have a project proposal having features which are not previously recognised or accepted. ICFOSS will shortlist the Project proposals on merit through scrutiny by a committee. The project period will be for one year. A maximum of fifteen (5 nos. exclusively for women) applicants will be selected, who may receive a fellowship amount of Rs.20,000/- per month. The applicants have to follow the below guidelines:-

All interested applicants should complete the online application form, provided in the ICFOSS website along with supporting documents. The application will be accepted only via online. The supporting documents includes:

A detailed Resume / CV

Copy of qualifying certificates

A detailed project proposal highlighting a problem statements

A detailed Post-Fellowship agenda (max 2 pages) highlighting future plans.

The applicant should produce the original certificates for verification during the time of interview.

The FOSS Innovation Fellowship in ICFOSS will be for a maximum period of one year.

A fellowship grant of Rs. 20,000/- per month shall be paid to the selected participants.

On successful completion of the FOSS Innovation Fellowship, the participants will be provided with Certificates of Fellowship.
DOCUMENTATION GUIDELINES
Project Proposal
The project proposal that features a problem that has not previously been recognised or otherwise should have a different approach to already recognised problem. The Project proposal should follow the following Structure. Participant should ensure that the sturcture mentioned in the guidenlines are followed.
The proposal shall include the standard coversheet, a one page table of contents and not more than ten pages of text (including any charts or diagrams).
Additional attachments if any (not more than ten pages) which may include documents certifying the status of the project (if already initiated), endorsements of the proposed project, funding commitments or other indicators of participation and support from other institutions, and evidence of community support and participation.

Post Fellowship Agenda
The applicant should also provide a brief Post Fellowship Agenda (of not more than two pages) of his/her plans along with the application since the fellowship is offered as a precursor activity for a long term goal which could be higher education, entrepreneurship or a job.
