5day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Large Language Models” (Offline)

ICFOSS is organising a 5-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Large Language Models” from 4^th to 8^th October 2023 from 10.00AM to 5.00PM at ICFOSS, Sports Hub, Greenfield, Karyavattom. This Faculty Development Program aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skills of faculty members in the field of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Generative Models. This program is designed to provide an in-depth understanding of cutting-edge NLP technologies and methodologies.

Objectives:

To introduce faculty members to the fundamentals of NLP and its evolution into Generative NLP.
To delve into the core concepts of Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN), Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), Attention Models, and Transformers.
To explore advanced topics such as Prompt Engineering and LangChain.
To provide hands-on experience in fine-tuning language models, focusing on LLM (Large Language Models) including LORA and QLORA.
To familiarize participants with LlaMa, LlaMa2.

Dates & Duration : The FDP will be conducted over a period of 5 days.

Duration: The course will be of 30 hours duration (6 hours per day)

Number of participants : A maximum of 20 participants will be allowed to attend, on a first come first serve basis.

Registration Fee: A registration fee of Rs. 3000 shall be charged from a participant. The payment would be transfered online via, ICFOSS account. The fee once paid will not be refunded.

Note: Individuals choosing accommodation will be required to make a payment of Rs. 5000, encompassing both the registration fee and accommodation charges (shared accomodation). Please note that the cost of breakfast and dinner is not included in this accommodation charges.

Pre requisites:

To learn large language models, one should have a solid foundation in programming, especially in Python, machine learning and deep learning basics.

Course Delivery:

The program will be conducted through a combination of lectures, hands-on workshops and practical exercises. Participants will have access to the latest NLP tools and resources, and will be encouraged to apply knowledge through practical projects.
