International Centre for Free and Open Source Solutions (ICFOSS) is organizing a 5-day Summer Camp in “Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) and Python”, tailored for school students from grades 8 to 12. The program is scheduled to be held from 20^th to 24^th of April 2026. The curriculum of this training is specially designed for school students in an engaging and curiosity-driven way, different from the monotonous traditional syllabus.

Develop future-ready skills with a strong foundation in Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) and Python through an engaging Summer Camp, designed for hands-on learning and real-world application. Students will explore open-source tools while developing key skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity using Python within the FOSS ecosystem. Through practical tasks the learners will gain confidence in building meaningful solutions, while expert mentors from ICFOSS provide personalized support to help them successfully complete assignments and deepen their understanding of open-source technologies and Python development.

Mode of training:

This training program will be conducted in offline mode. Our systematic approach includes skill assessments, intensive training and mentoring that helps valuable learning opportunities and unwavering support to students.

Topics: Introduction to FOSS, Ubuntu Basics, Ubuntu Terminal Basics, LibreOffice Basics, Python Programming – Setup & Basics, Data Types and Objects, Operators, Expressions, Statements,Strings, Lists, Tuples and Dictionaries, Flow of Control – Selection, Break, Continue, More Loop Practice, Python Programming – Functions & Scope 1, Python Programming – Functions & Scope 2, Networking, Introduction to AI

Application Process: Spots are limited to 30 students per batch. Selection on a first-come, first-served basis.

Who Should Join: Students from grades 8 to 12, with a fundamental understanding of using computers.

• Duration: 5 Days (6 Hours per Day - 30-Hour Program)

• Registration Fee: Rs. 3,500/- per student (working lunch, tea and snacks included)
