About LoRaWAN:
LoRaWAN
is a Wireless Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN) designed to work in
industrial, scientific and medical (ISM) radio bands. The network is
expected to create opportunities for startups, researchers, students and
professionals to realise Ultra Low Power Sensing nodes with a lifespan
of up to 10 years and with a range of up to 15 KM. The network operates
in license-free radio bands hence no licensing costs are involved which
in other cases would involve the purchase of a separate Spectrum
License. In India, the most preferred is 865-867 MHz band which offers a
maximum transmitter output power of 1 Watt and carrier Bandwidth of up
to 200 KHz.
