ICFOSS intends to conduct a Hackathon, 3 – day residential camp for college students from all over Kerala during 2-4 September, 2016 at ICFOSS Office, in association with Society for the Promotion of Alternative Computing and Employment (SPACE). We would ensure that 50% of the participants will be women. There will be a selection process to identify the enthusiastic students for the programme.

Most of the Engineering students are not aware of the usefulness of FOSS and the FOSS based tools created under it.Inorder to familiarise them with the nuances of FOSS, we are conducting this as a train the trainer kind of program. The trainers who get training from this programme can be used as ambassadors to impart the ideas to their friends in their respective colleges. There will be classes on Free Software, Programming, Expert talks, Film Screening on Free Software, Interactive gun games etc. in this programme. We hope that there will be more bonding between the students to transfer the ideas of Free Software at the end of this programme.

Food, accommodation and travel expenses of these selected students will be met by ICFOSS. They will be provided with a participation certificate.
