Advanced Training on GNU/R Announced

Advanced training programme for GNU/R

28 July 2011. ICFOSS and the Department of Statistics, University of Kerala, are jointly organizing an advanced training programme for GNU/R, the FOSS-based package for statistical analysis and visualization. The audience for the programme consists of students, faculty from the Kerala University and colleges, and representatives from the IT Industry. The faculty for the programme is Dr. Sudha Purohit of Pune University, the most eminent teacher in the country and the author of a textbook on GNU/R. The training has the objective of creating a pool of local human resources with skills in GNU/R so as to make teaching and research easier as well as to provide resources to the IT Industry.

Earlier, ICFOSS and the Dept. of Statistics, University of Kerala, had organized a one-dayIndustry-Academia Interaction on 16 June on the topic "Business Analytics and GNU/R".
